Terms of service
Last updated 2 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Archibold Bernard, who operate Cho Dey. They cover the Cho Dey seller app and this website. Using either means you accept them.
What Cho Dey is
Cho Dey is a tool sellers use to take pre-orders: a seller announces what they are making, sets how many they can make and a time orders close, and shares a link. Customers order and pay through that link before the cutoff.
We are not the seller. The food, the baking, the packing, the handover and the delivery are the seller's. When a customer orders, the agreement for that order is between the customer and the seller. Cho Dey carries the order and the payment between them.
Seller accounts
- You must be 18 or older and entitled to run the business you are listing.
- Keep your details accurate — your business name, the phone number customers will reach you on, and any licences you record.
- You are responsible for what you sell: that it is described honestly, that allergens are declared, that it is safe to eat, and that you hold whatever registration or licence the law requires of you.
- You are responsible for fulfilling the orders you accept, and for sorting out cancellations and refunds with your customers.
- Your sign-in is yours. Tell us at archibold.bernard@halbestunde.com if you think someone else has it.
Ordering as a customer
You do not need an account. You give a name, a phone number, and an address if you want delivery. Pre-orders are made to order: once the cutoff passes the seller buys and cooks against what was sold, so an order cannot simply be withdrawn. If something is wrong with an order, contact the seller — their number is on the order page — and tell us as well if they do not put it right.
Payments
Payments are taken by Paystack, who handle the card or Mobile Money details. We never see them. A payment is only confirmed when Paystack confirms it to us, and an order that is not paid for releases the quantity it was holding after a short wait so someone else can buy it.
Money for an order belongs to the seller. Refunds are the seller's decision and the seller's to make. If Cho Dey ever charges a fee on an order or for a paid plan, the amount will be shown to the seller before it applies.
Your content
Your photos, menu and descriptions stay yours. By putting them in Cho Dey you let us show them on your drop pages and storefront, and in link previews when those pages are shared — which is the point of them. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to use.
Things you may not do
- Sell anything you are not legally allowed to sell.
- Pretend to be someone else, or list a business that is not yours.
- Use Cho Dey to take money for orders you do not intend to make.
- Attack, scrape or interfere with the service, or try to reach data belonging to another seller.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will say why unless the law stops us.
Availability
Cho Dey is in early access and is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption or free of faults, and we may change or withdraw features. Where something matters to your business — a cutoff, a list, a payment — check it rather than assuming.
Liability
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, Archibold Bernard is not liable for the quality, safety or delivery of anything a seller sells, for lost profits or lost sales, or for loss caused by the service being unavailable.
Ending it
You can stop using Cho Dey at any time. To have your account and data deleted, follow Deleting your data in the privacy policy.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana deal with any dispute arising from them.
Changes
We will update this page if the terms change, and change the date at the top. Carrying on using Cho Dey after that means accepting the new terms.
