Cho Dey
Sell it before you make it
Cho Dey is a pre-order app for people who cook, bake and make to order in Ghana. Announce what you're making, take the orders and the Mobile Money before your cutoff, then make exactly what is already sold.
How it works
- Open a drop. Pick what you're making from your menu, set how many of each you can make, and set the time orders close.
- Share the link. One link for the drop, made to be posted on WhatsApp or Instagram. Customers open it in a browser — no app, no account.
- Get paid up front. Customers pay by Mobile Money when they order, so the money is in before you buy ingredients.
- Make the list. At the cutoff you get a prep list, a shopping list and a delivery list, with a short pickup code against every order.
The seller app
Sellers run Cho Dey from a phone app for Android and iPhone: menu, drops, orders, and a simple set of books for what came in and what went out.
Signing in uses Google or Apple. We ask Google only for your name, email address and profile picture — enough to create your seller account and to let you sign back in on a new phone. We never ask for access to your Gmail, your Drive, your contacts or your calendar, and we don't post anything to your Google account. What we do with it is set out in the privacy policy.
The app is in early access while we onboard the first sellers. Email archibold.bernard@halbestunde.com if you make to order and want on.
Ordering from a seller
Got an order link from a seller? Open it to see what's available, pick what you want and pay with MoMo. You don't need an account and there is nothing to download — you give your name, a phone number to be reached on, and a delivery address if you want it delivered.
